Integrated Plug Fastening System for PVC/Composite Decks and PVC Trim
The Pro Plug® System for PVC and Composite is a superior and easy-to-install plug fastening system for PVC/Composite Decking and PVC Trim. Plugs are available for leading decking and trim products.
The System consists of the following components:
1. Screws: Epoxy Coated Carbon Steel, Grades 305 or 316 Stainless Steel screws are available in various lengths (from 2" - 3"). All screws feature a star drive recess and are ACQ approved.
2. PVC/Composite Tool: This unique patented tool drives screws to the correct depth below the surface. It features a No Cam-Out Auto-Stop™ mechanism that prevents the screw from stripping and a free-spinning stop collar that protects the board.
3. Plugs: Made from actual PVC/Composite deck or trim material, they match perfectly.

Decking and Metal Dimensions: The 10 x 1-5/8" version of Deckfast Metal is designed for decking materials with an actual thickness of ¾" to 1" attached to steel or aluminum* up to 12 gauge or two 14 gauge joists doubled up. The 12 x 2-3/8" version of Deckfast Metal is designed for decking materials with an actual thickness above 1" and up to 1-1/2" attached to steel or aluminum up to ¼" thick.
*Note: When using the 1-5/8" screw with thinner gauges of aluminum, ensure that the wings shear off cleanly by applying slightly more pressure during installation.
Pre-drilling: Pre-drilling is not required, even in hardwoods.
Perfectly Set Fasteners: To achieve a clean and uniform appearance, with screws set at a perfect and consistent depth below the surface, use the new Smart-Bit Deck Screw Depth Setter.
Corrosion Information: The combination of 410 Stainless Steel and Epoxy Coating provides good corrosion resistance; however, Deckfast Metal is not recommended for use in applications exposed to salt air, near large bodies of water, swimming pools or other areas where corrosion is likely to occur. For these applications, use Grade 316 Stainless Steel fasteners.

- Pressure Treated Decking: Flat head Headcote screws are recommended.
- Hardwood Decking: Trim head Deckfast Stainless screws are recommended.
- Pre-drilling: Pre-drilling is usually required for hardwoods. Smart-Bit Pre-drilling and Countersinking Tools are specifically designed to work together with Headcote 305 and 316 (as well as Starborn's Deckfast 305 and 316 deck screws) to create the perfect hole and perfect fit every time.
