Specifications
Like with any trim product, there are places that require sealing. This is to prevent water penetration into the wall cavity. For places where sealant is required, a polymer-based sealant -containing solvent is optimal. (Do not use silicone)
Bonding Versatex to itself:
- PVC Glue - with a set up time of 3-5 minutes is required.
- WELD-ON 705 PVC Glue is the recommended product for use.
- Only apply glue to one board, then force the other board together firmly – creating a secure molecular bond.
- Allow approximately 10 minutes for the glue to set. (form bond)
- Wait 24 hours after bond is formed before stressing the joint.
Bonding Versatex to wood:
- Heavy duty construction adhesives are required
- PL or equivalent Polyurethane
- Liquid nails subfloor – heavy duty
Bonding Versatex to metal, block, or concrete:
- Use a 2-part metal methacrylate grade adhesive
- PVC Trim Welder is the recommended product for use
