CertainTeed CertaTrim is a is a cellular PVC material used as non-load bearing exterior trim. It can be installed in such areas as cornerboards, soffits, fascias, column wraps, door pilasters, frieze boards, non-load bearing rake boards, architectural millwork, door trim, and window trim. It is suitable for residential and light commercial applications.

CertaTrim comes in Natural White and does not require painting for protection. Painting is possible with 100% acrylic latex paint.

CertaTrim Skirtboard with DualStart design provides a starter board for fiber cement siding. CertaTrim Skirtboard is also reversible, offering a Smooth and Select Cedar side.

All trimboards come with one side in Select Cedar woodgrain and one side with smooth finish.

Can I paint CertainTeed Trim?

CertainTeed Trim is highly resistant to UV fading, cracking and yellowing. It features the look of natural white painted wood with the superb workability and durability of cellular PVC. Although it never needs painting, it can be painted with 100% acrylic latex for light colors and Sherwin-Williams® VinylSafe™ paint for dark colors.

What method is recommended for fastening?

CertainTeed recommends fastening Trim every 16”, penetrating 1-1/2” into solid substrate or framing member. Consult CertainTeed installation manual for additional information.

Does CertainTeed trim Expand and Contrast?

Yes, all cellular PVC products expand and contract. When installing Trim, allow 1/8” per 18 feet and use scarf joints and glue on long runs to keep the expansion out at the ends of the run. Consult CertainTeed Installation Manuals for additional information.
